So who am I and what business do I have saying I can make your writing better?
Well, my name is Walker Smith, and I’ve read A LOT. Some of my earliest memories were of reading Lloyd Alexander, Dan Simmons, and Michael Moorcock. I wrote my first short story when I was eight years old, about—you guessed it—a young hero slaying a dragon, and fell in love with the craft of storytelling. From there I kept engaging with writing in any way I could. I wrote my own stories, I read as much as I could, and I went to college and got a creative writing degree.
While I was there, I read hundreds of pieces of fiction, from high fantasy to experimental literary fiction, and fell in love with the process of collaborating with an author to make their story the best it could possibly be. I also interned with a publishing house and cut my teeth in every step of the publication process, from early evaluation down to line-edits. I loved every second I spent working in the publishing industry, and want to continue that here.
Everyone has a story to tell, and all I want to do is help you tell yours.
